Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
  • grated rind of 1 lemon

Directions

    Add all dry ingredients in bowl, then add other ingredients. Mix well with mixer.

    Add grated rind and chopped nuts.

    Pour into well-greased and floured loaf pan with wax paper in bottom. Preheat oven to 325°.

    Bake for 1 hour or until done.
