- 1/4 c. butter
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. grated lemon peel
- 2 c. flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 3 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1In large bowl, cream together butter and 3/4 cup sugar until light and fluffy.

2Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add eggs and lemon peel to butter and sugar and beat well.

3Adding a little at a time, mix flour mixture and milk into butter mixture, beating smooth after each addition until all milk and flour mixture has been added.

4Stir in walnuts.

5Pour into greased loaf pan.

6Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes.

7Let cool in pan for 5 minutes.

8Take a toothpick and prick holes in bread.

9Mix 3 teaspoons lemon juice with 2 tablespoons sugar.

10Pour slowly over bread so mixture seeps in.
