  • 5 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • rind of 1 lemon, grated
  • 1/2 c. nuts
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Cream 1 cup sugar and butter together.

    Add eggs; beat together.

    Add 1/2 cup of milk and flour with baking powder and salt.

    Stir in lemon rind and nuts.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Take out of pan and pour juice of lemon, mixed with 1/2 cup sugar, over the bread.
