  • 3 c. regular flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. Crisco or substitute
  • 1 c. milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 2 tsp. lemon extract or 3 tsp. superior vanilla butter and nut flavoring

Directions

    Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, margarine and Crisco in a mixing bowl.

    Add the flavoring and milk and beat until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, while beating.

    Bake in greased and floured tube pan for one hour and ten minutes to one hour and twenty minutes at 325°.

    Let cool in pan, right side up.
