  • 2 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 lb. dark raisins, dredged in a little flour
  • 1 box chopped dates, dredged in a little flour
  • rind of 1 grated lemon and juice

Directions

    Cream the butter or margarine and sugar well.

    Add eggs, one at a time, then flour, then raisins, dates, then lemon rind and juice.

    Bake in four 9-inch cake pans, greased and lined with paper.

    Bake at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes.
