  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • water
  • 1 whole lemon
  • 1 whole lime

Directions

    Mix first three ingredients, adding enough water to make a thick batter.

    Grate peel of lemon and lime, add to the batter. Squeeze the juice from the lemon and lime and also add to the batter; mix well.

    (If you like a thinner batter, add more water.) Coat pieces of fish in flour, then dip in batter.

    Fry in hot oil. (To test oil to see if it's hot enough, stick a match in it, if the match lights, the oil is hot enough.)
