  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 12 cup milk
  • rind of one lemon
  • 1 14 cups white sugar
  • juice of one lemon

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°F (325 for glass loaf dish).

    Cream sugar, butter, eggs and milk.

    Sift in dry ingredients.

    Add lemon rind.

    Bake for approximately one hour.

    GLAZE DIRECTIONS.

    Mix well.

    Warm in oven for a few minutes after removing loaf.

    Spoon over loaf while still warm but cooling on cake rack.
