- 2 c. sugar
- 1 lb. margarine
- 1 lb. white raisins
- 1 qt. chopped pecans
- 3 c. plain flour
- 6 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda in 3 Tbsp. water
- 2 oz. lemon extract
Directions

1Sift flour.

2Mix raisins, nuts and flour.

3Cream butter and sugar.

4Add beaten egg yolks.

5Add soda and water.

6Add raisins, nuts and flour.

7Add lemon extract.

8Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

9Cook 2 3/4 hours at 250°.

10Put pan of water under cake when cooking and aluminum foil on top.

11Bake in a greased tube pan.
