  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 beaten egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 c. boiling hot water
  • 2 lemons
  • 4 Tbsp. lemon juice or lemon flavoring
  • 1 (9-inch) cooked pie shell

Directions

    In the top of a doubler, mix sugar and flour together. Add beaten egg yolks to mixture, stirring often. Add boiling water and lemon juice or flavoring.

    Continue to stir until mixture gets real thick; make sure the bottom of double boiler has plenty of water in it, but not enough to cause steam to rise while stirring ingredients.

    Pour into cooked pie shell.
