  • 3 c. sugar
  • 2 sticks butter (not margarine), softened
  • 1/2 c. oil
  • 3 c. flour (regular)
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon extract

Directions

    Beat sugar, oil and butter (with mixer) until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat until creamy. Alternate flour and milk beginning with flour and ending with flour. Add salt and lemon extract. Bake in tube pan, greased and floured, at 325° for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Check after 1 hour. Ovens vary. Cool in pan for 15 minutes. Turn out on cake plate.
