  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon flavoring

Directions

    Cream together the shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time.

    Mix flours and salt. Add this to the sugar mixture alternately with milk.

    Add flavoring and lemon juice; mix well. Pour into tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
