  • 1 c. Crisco (white)
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. enriched flour
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon extract

Directions

    Cream sugar and Crisco.

    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.

    Add salt and soda to buttermilk.

    Add sifted flour and buttermilk mixture alternately to sugar and egg mixture.

    Pour into tube pan and bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes at 350°.

    (Tube pan must be greased and floured before preparation.)
