  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 12 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 lemons, juice of
  • 2 grated lemons, rind of
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • lemon, knots (to garnish)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350F Mix all ingredients except egg whites and beat until smooth.

    Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture.

    Place in greased 12 x 8 x 2-inch casserole dish.

    Place casserole, uncovered, in pan containing 1 inch of hot water and bake 50 minutes.

    Cool and garnish with lemon knots.
