- 2 c. unsifted flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
- 2 tsp. grated lemon peel
Directions

1Grease and flour 2 pans.

2Preheat oven to 350°.

3Sift flour with baking powder and salt.

4Beat butter with 1 cup sugar.

5Add one egg at a time, beating well after each.

6Beat in flour mixture alternately with milk.

7Stir in nuts and lemon peel.

8Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

9Test with a toothpick.
