  • 1 (6 ounce) can frozen lemonade, thawed
  • 34 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons gingerroot, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 12 teaspoons fennel seeds
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 3 -3 12 lbs chicken, cut in serving-size pieces

    Mix all ingredients except the cornstarch, 1 tablespoon water and the chicken in a 1 quart saucepan.

    Heat to boiling; reduce heat.

    Simmer, uncovered 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

    Mix cornstarch and water; stir into lemonade mixture.

    Heat to boiling; reduce heat.

    Simmer uncovered about 1 minute, stirring frequently, until sauce is slightly thickened; remove from heat.

    Place chicken in a shallow glass or plastic dish.

    Pour lemonade mixture over chicken.

    Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour but no longer than 24 hours, turning occasionally.

    Remove chicken from marinade; reserve marinade.

    Place chickens, skin sides up, on grill; brush with marinade.

    Cover and grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals 15 minutes; turn chicken.
