Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lentils
  • 1/2 lb. ham seasoning
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 pods garlic, sliced
  • 1/4 c. parsley
  • 1 medium carrot, chopped
  • 1 rib celery, chopped
  • 1/2 gal. water
  • salt and pepper to taste (Tabasco is excellent)

Directions

    Add lentils and all other ingredients to 1/2 gallon water in large soup pot.

    Bring to boil.

    When onion and carrots are very soft, lower heat and cook over low boil until lentils are tender. Stir constantly.
