Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 tiny garlic clove
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 qt. water
  • 1/2 pkg. lentils
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 to 2 stalks diced celery
  • 1 qt. tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • chili powder
  • 2 to 4 pieces hot red pepper

Directions

    In a soup kettle, brown first four ingredients in oil.

    Add next six ingredients and cook until it simmers or is heated through.

    Add chili powder and red pepper to taste.

    Cook about 1 1/2 hours and add water to prevent it being too thick.
