- 3/4 to 1 lb. ham cubed
- 1 lb. lentils
- 1 package onion soup mix
- 2 bay leaf
- 10 cup water
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 8 whole cloves
- 2 cups diced carrots
- 2 cups diced potatoes
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup parsley flakes
- 1 Tbsp. salt
Directions

1In large kettle combine ham, onion soup, bay leaf, lentils, pepper, allspice, cloves, parsley flakes and salt. Bring to boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

2Add carrots, potatoes and celery. Return to boiling point, reduce heat, cover and simmer one hour or longer until ham and vegetables are fork-tender.
