- 1/2 lb. lentils (1 c.)
- 1 lb. spinach, chopped
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp. coriander
- 1 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. cumin seed
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- lemon juice to taste
- salt to taste
Directions

1Boil the lentils in 1 pint (2 cups) water until soft (about 25 minutes).

2Fry sliced onion and chopped garlic; add spices.

3Stir about 2 minutes.

4Add cooked lentils and washed and coarsely chopped spinach.

5Stir well.

6Simmer 10 to 15 minutes.

7Add salt and lemon juice.
