Lentils With Pasta

  • 1/2 lb. dry lentils
  • 3 medium stalks celery
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 6 c. cold water
  • 1/2 lb. linguini or spaghetti
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Measure 6 cups cold water into saucepan.

    Put lentils in water with 4 cloves of garlic and celery (cut up in small pieces).

    Cut slit in garlic cloves, leave whole.

    Bring to a boil; reduce heat and let simmer 45 minutes until lentils are tender.

    Cut pasta into small pieces and cook separately.

    Drain and add pasta to cooked lentils.

    Add olive oil, salt and pepper to taste.
