- 1 c. lentils
- 4 c. water
- 2 large onions, diced
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 c. rice
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Rinse lentils and add to water.

2Bring to boil and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.

3Saute onions in oil until golden brown; add rice and salt.

4Cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until rice and lentils are fluffy.

5Be careful rice and lentils don't stick.

6Place on serving platter and completely cover the lentils and rice with the fried onions.

7May be served hot or cold. Serves 6.
