- 1 1/2 c. (12 oz.) dried apricots
- 2/3 c. water
- 3/4 c. butter
- 3 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 c. whole red candied cherries
- 1 c. slivered almonds
- 1 1/2 c. golden raisins
- 1/2 c. flour
- rum
Directions

1Cut apricots into quarters and place in saucepan with water.

2Simmer until tender; cool.

3Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time and beat well.

4Add flour, soda, cooled apricots.

5Sprinkle cherries, almonds and raisins with flour and add.

6Spoon batter into 2 large or 4 small greased and floured loaf pans.

7Bake in 275° oven for about 1 1/2 hours or 1 1/4 hours for small pans. Cool in pans on rack and pour 2 Tbsp. rum over each loaf while still warm.
