- 2 egg yolks
- 2 c. (500 mL) milk
- 2 c. (500 mL) all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) salt
- 1/3 c. (75 mL) oil
- 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Directions

1Preheat waffle maker.

2Put all ingredients, except egg whites in a large mixer bowl.

3Beat on low until moistened.

4Increase to medium; mix until smooth.

5By hand, gently fold in beaten egg whites.

6Pour 1/2 cup (125 mL) batter in center of grid.

7Close waffle maker; bake until golden, 3 to 3 1/2 minutes.

8Repeat. Serve hot with your favorite topping.

9Yield: ten 6 1/2-inch (16.25 cm) waffles.
