  • 1 lb. dried lima beans
  • 6 large ripe pears, cored, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 c. light molasses
  • 1/4 c. light brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. chicken broth or stock
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • pepper to taste

Directions

    Soak limas as directed by package.

    Combine all ingredients in a crock-pot and bake for 8 hours or longer.

    Or use a heavy casserole with a tight fitting lid and bake in 200° oven for 8 hours or longer.
