- yellow cucumbers or large green ones (the larger, the better)
- 2 c. lime
- 2 qt. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. pickling spice
- green food coloring
- 2 gal. water
- 4 1/2 lb. sugar
- 1 tsp. turmeric
Directions

1Peel cucumbers; slice and seed them.

2Use 7 1/2 pounds cucumber sticks.

3Mix lime and water; pour over cucumbers.

4Let stand cold for 24 hours.

5Rinse 3 different times.

6Cool waters; let stand in ice for 3 hours.

7Pour off; drain real good.

8Mix vinegar, sugar and pickling spice.

9Heat until dissolved.

10Let get cold; pour over pickles.

11Let stand cold 12 hours.

12Put on stove; boil hard for 30 minutes.

13While cooking, add turmeric and food coloring.

14Pack tight in jars and seal.

15Makes 10 pints.
