- 1 12 cups flour
- 1 12 cups sugar, divided
- 12 cup argo cornstarch
- 34 cup butter or 34 cup margarine, softened
- 1 14 cups karo lite syrup
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 1 12 teaspoons spice islands pure vanilla extract
- 6 ounces pecans, chopped
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350F.

2To Make Crust:.

3COMBINE flour, 1/4 cup sugar and corn starch in a large bowl.

4Cut in butter until crumbly.

5Press into greased 13 x 9-inch pan.

6BAKE in a preheated 350F oven for 15 minutes until edges are lightly browned.

7To Make Filling:.

8STIR together syrup, remaining sugar, eggs, salt and vanilla in a large bowl until blended.

9Add pecans and chocolate chips.

10POUR over crust and bake an additional 35 minutes until filling is firm around the edges and slightly soft in center.

11COOL completely, about 2 hours, before cutting into bars.
