- 1 yeast
- 2 c. scalded milk or warm water
- 3/4 c. butter or shortening
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. lemon extract or orange
- 3 well beaten eggs
- flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 3/4 cup lukewarm water; add 1 teaspoon sugar and let stand for 5 minutes.

2Mix all ingredients and add enough flour to make a soft dough.

3Let rise 3 times, then roll to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into desired shape.

4Bake in very hot grease.

5Frost with powdered sugar frosting, crushed crackers and nuts.
