  • 1 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. finely chopped celery
  • 1 Tbsp. finely chopped green pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. grated carrot
  • 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. finely chopped parsley or cilantro or 1 tsp. dried
  • 1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce or 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • freshly ground pepper to taste
