Macadamia Nut Bars Recipe

- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. sifted flour
Directions

1To make cookie crust, cream together butter and sugar.

2Work in flour till mix is smooth.

3Pat into bottom of 9 inch square pan.

4Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, 20 min or possibly till golden.

5Meanwhile make filling.

6Beat Large eggs slightly.

7Add in remaining ingredients and stir till well blended.

8Spread filling over baked crust and bake 20 min or possibly till browned and hard to the touch.

9Let cold in pan on wire rack.

10Make frosting by beating ingredients together till smooth, adding sufficient evaporated lowfat milk to make spreading consistency.

11Spread proportionately over filling.

12If you like, garnish with minced nuts or possibly coconut.

13Cut into about 30 bars.

14Macadamia nuts make a richer cookie than walnuts, but either nut makes an excellent bar.
