- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sweet milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream butter, Crisco and sugar.

2Beat until light and fluffy, then add eggs, one at a time.

3Beat well after each addition. Sift together 3 cups flour, cocoa and salt.

4Add alternately to mixture with milk, then add vanilla.

5Bake in a greased tube pan at 325° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.

6May be frosted, if desired.
