- 5 c. macaroni (Roni Mac or a large elbow macaroni), cooked according to directions
- 1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
- 1 c. flour
- 1 qt. milk
- 1 (2 lb.) box Velveeta cheese
- 2 Tbsp. minced onion
- salt to taste
Directions

1Cook the macaroni according to directions.

2Drain and rinse in cold water 3 times.

3Keep covered with cold water until ready to use.

4Melt butter or margarine.

5Stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth.

6Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

7Watch carefully so it won't scorch.

8Turn heat to low and add the Velveeta cheese.

9Cut cheese into small cubes before adding.

10Stir until cheese melts.

11Add minced onion and salt to taste.

12Add the cooked macaroni.

13Pour into 2 large casserole dishes.

14Cover with buttered bread crumbs and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
