- 1 qt. milk
- 4 oz. elbow macaroni
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. lemon rind
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. chopped dates
Directions

1Scald milk in heavy saucepan; do not boil.

2Add macaroni; simmer, uncovered, stirring frequently until tender.

3Beat eggs; add sugar and beat until thick and lemon colored.

4Remove mixture from heat; stir in egg mixture and remaining ingredients.

5Pour in lightly greased baking dish and bake in a 300° oven for 55 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

6Serve warm or cold.

7Makes 6 to 8 servings.
