- 125 g butter
- 12 cup caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 cup plain baking flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons milk
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

2Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each additiong.

3Stir in vanilla.

4Sift flour and baking powder.

5Fold into creamed mixture.

6Add milk to give a soft dropping consistency.

7Half fill 12 small grease moulds with mixture.

8Bake at 200C (400F) for 8 minutes or until cakes spring back lightly when touched.

9Leave in tin for 5 minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack.

10(If they last that long).

11Eat on it's own, or with jam and/or cream.
