- 1/3 bar Baker's chocolate
- 1 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. cake flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Cook chocolate bar and 1 cup milk until thick or melted; cool. Beat well sugar, shortening and eggs.

2Add chocolate and 1/2 milk and vanilla.

3Add flour, soda and salt; mix well.

4Bake in greased and floured pan.

5Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes until done. If baked in cake pans, makes 3 small or 2 large pans or 10 x 12-inch pan.

6Frost with either chocolate or butter frosting.
