  • 1 lb. smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 3 c. water
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 3 each: carrots and celery, cut in chunks
  • 1/2 head cabbage, cut in chunks
  • 2 Tbsp. uncooked rice
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans

Directions

    Brown onion in oil in large pot.

    Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer thirty minutes.
