- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 3 c. water
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 3 carrots, chopped
- 3 celery stalks, chopped
- 1/4 head cabbage, cut into 1-inch chunks
- 2 Tbsp. uncooked rice
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans
- 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
Directions

1In a large saucepan, brown onion in oil until tender.
