- 1 Grated Carrot
- 1/2 cups Peas
- 1 cup Grated Paneer Or Cottage Cheese
- 1 Boiled, Mashed Potato
- 1 teaspoon Salt, Or To Taste
- 1 Tablespoon Garam Masala
- 1 cup Bread Crumbs
- 6 Tablespoons Oil, For Frying
- 1 Tablespoon Vegetable Or Canola Oil
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 2 Cloves
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 piece Ginger, grated
- 1 cup Pureed Tomato
- 1 Tablespoon Coriander And Cumin Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Garam Masala
- 1 Tablespoon Salt, Or To Taste
- 1/2 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1/2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
Directions

1Cook carrot and peas with very little water for 2-3 minutes.

2Add grated paneer, mashed potato, salt and a little garam masala.

3Mix well to make a dough.

4Make small round balls and keep it aside.

5Roll all the dough in the bread crumbs.

6Heat 5-6 tablespoons of oil in a pan, place each ball in the oil and turn the heat to medium.

7Let it cook for 3 minutes.

8Do not try to turn it, else it will break.

9After 3 minutes, turn the ball to other side and cook for 3 more minutes.

10Alternatives: You can deep fry the ballit tastes wonderful.

11If you are fan of fried food, you can do this.

12Or coat the ball with oil and bake it at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until it turns golden color.

14For the gravy, heat the oil in a pan.

15Add the bay leaf, cloves, onion, garlic and ginger; fry until translucent.

16The caramelized onion gives the best taste.

17Add pinch of salt and sugar and fry on a low heat until translucent to caramelize the onion.

18Add pureed tomato and cook for 2 minutes.

19Add garam masala, salt, chili powder, coriander and cumin powder.

20Add the heavy cream or half-and-half; mix well.

21Check for salt and spice levels, adjusting as necessary.

22Add the prepared ball called kofta, garnish with cilantro.

23This can be served with naan, roti, bread or rice.
