Mama'S Corn Bread Dressing

  • 1 pouch corn bread mix
  • 6 to 8 slices bread
  • 1 c. broth (chicken or turkey)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp. sage
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme

Directions

    Make corn bread according to directions on the package.

    After it has baked and cooled, chop corn bread and bread slices into 1/2-inch cubes.

    In a large bowl, mix breads and vegetables.

    In pot, combine broth and spices and bring to a bowl.

    When broth has cooled, add egg and whisk together, then pour over bread mix and stir gently. Press dressing into greased baking dish and bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes. Can be doubled as needed.
