- 1 c. scalded milk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 yeast in 1/4 c. warm water
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
Directions

1Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt.

2Cool.

3Add yeast, softened in warm water.

4Add egg and flour.

5Let rise for 2 hours. Roll out and cut in bars with knife.

6Let rise until very large and fry in fat (melted Crisco).

7Frost with powdered sugar and maple flavoring.
