- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 7 egg yolks
- 2 teaspoons maple flavoring
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup salad oil
- 3/4 cup cold water
- 7 egg whites
- 1 cup finely chopped nuts
Directions

1In a large bowl, stir dry ingredients thoroughly.

2Make a well and add, in order, the salad oil, yolks, cold water and maple flavoring.

3Stir until smooth.

4In large bowl of electric mixer, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.

5Gradually pour egg yolk mixture over egg whites.

6Fold gently until just blended.

7Gently fold in nuts.

8Pour into an angel food baking pan and bake for 1 hour at 350°F.
