- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
- 1/3 cup maple-flavored pancake syrup
- 1 Land O Lakes Egg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons real semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions

1Heat oven to 350F.

2Combine sugar and butter in bowl.

3Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.

4Add syrup and egg; continue beating until well mixed.

5Add flour and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed.

6Shape dough into 1-inch balls using floured hands.

7Roll each ball into 10-inch rope.

8Shape into pinwheel shape leaving one end uncurled to resemble head of snail.

9Place snails 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.

10Bake 10-13 minutes or until lightly browned.

11Place chocolate chips into bowl; microwave, stirring every 30 seconds, 60-90 seconds or until melted and smooth.

12Use point of toothpick dipped in melted chocolate to make eye on each snail.
