- 1 12 cups half-and-half cream
- 34 cup sugar
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon walnut extract (optional)
- 12 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
Directions

1In a small saucepan, heat half and half to 175 degrees F. and stir in the sugar.

2Cool quickly by placing pan in a bowl of ice water; stir for 2 minutes.

3Stir in whipping cream and extracts.

4Fill cylinder of ice cream freezer 2/3 full and freeze according to manufacturer' s directions.

5During the last 5 minutes, add half of the syrup and walnuts.

6Refrigerate remaining mixture until ready to freeze then repeat the process, adding remaining syrup and walnuts.

7Transfer to a freezer container; freeze for 2 to 4 hours before serving.
