Ingredients

  • 6 lb. chuck or round steak
  • 1/8 c. bay leaves (6 or 8)
  • 1 Tbsp. oregano
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground red pepper
  • 2 oz. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. cumin
  • 1 c. cracker meal
  • water to taste

Directions

    Brown the chuck or round steak on medium heat.

    Add the bay leaves, oregano and 2 cups water.

    Boil for 1 hour.
  4. 4
    Pour the water through strainer into cooked chili meat.
  5. 5
    Add the remaining ingredients. Cook 3 hours. May add more chili powder, if wanted.
