Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 to 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper (more or optional)
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
  • 4 (14 oz.) cans diced tomatoes
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1/3 c. fresh chopped parsley (1 Tbsp. dried)
  • 1/3 c. fresh chopped basil (1 Tbsp. dried)
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

    Combine olive oil, garlic, onion, red pepper, oregano and Italian seasoning. Saute, stirring often, until onions are transparent.

    Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, (stir occasionally) for about 1 hour. Serve over angel hair pasta.
