- 3/4 lb. Brie, cut into 6 slices
- 1/4 pt. olive oil
- 1 tsp. dried basil
- 10 black peppercorns
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced
- lettuce to serve
Directions

1Cook basil, peppercorns and sliced garlic in the oil until it starts to bubble.

2(Do not overcook, or the garlic will burn.) Remove from heat; allow to cool.

3Place sliced Brie on the bottom of a shallow dish.

4Pour the marinade over to cover cheese.

5Allow to stand for at least 4 hours before serving.

6Arrange 2 or 3 slices of cheese on salad leaves; just before serving, dribble with marinade.

7Serves 6.
