  • 2 (1 lb.) cans whole green beans
  • 1/2 c. chopped or sliced red onions
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 2/3 c. cider vinegar
  • 2/3 tsp. salt
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. oil

    Drain beans; save 1/3 cup juice.

    In saucepan, heat onion and all remaining ingredients until sugar is dissolved.
