- 1/3 c. wine vinegar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. basil
- 6 peppercorns
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 clove garlic, quartered
- 1 1/2 lb. small mushrooms, cut in half

1Day before serving:

2In 10-inch skillet over medium heat, heat to boiling all ingredients except mushrooms; cover and simmer over low heat 10 minutes.

3Stir in mushrooms until coated.

4Cook over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes or until fork tender.

5Cover and refrigerate.
