Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 Tbsp. gelatin
  • 6 Tbsp. cold water
  • 2 stiffly beaten egg whites
  • pinch of salt
  • nuts, coconut or powdered sugar

Directions

    Boil first 3 ingredients together to the soft ball stage. Pour over gelatin and cold water that has soaked while syrup boiled.

    Beat for 10 minutes.

    Add egg whites and salt.

    Pour into a pan lined with nuts, coconut or powdered sugar.

    Cool in refrigerator.
  6. 6
    Cut into squares and roll in the nuts.
