Ingredients

  • 2 envelopes Knox gelatine
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Directions

    Soak gelatine in half the water.

    Put remaining water and the sugar in saucepan and bring to boil.
  3. 3
    Continue boiling until syrup will string and thread when dropped from tip of spoon.
  4. 4
    When mixture reaches this soft ball stage, pour into mixing bowl and add gelatine.

    Let cool to warm and then add vanilla.
