Ingredients
- 1 cup of black rice
- 1/4 cup of minced onion
- 2 cups of salted chicken stock
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 tablespoon of garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon of garam masala
Directions

1Rinse the rice 2 or 3 times with cold water.

2Soak the rice for an hour and then drain.

3Heat the oil in a saucepan on medium high heat.

4Saute the onion until it begins to brown.

5Add garlic and garam masala. Saute for 1 minute.

6Add the rice and saute for 2 or 3 minutes.

7Add the stock. Stir, cover, and bring to a full boil.

8Reduce heat and simmer covered for 35 minutes.

9Remove from heat. Let it sit covered for 10 minutes.

10Fluff and serve.
